We are pleased to announce the upcoming EURO/TRANSMOD PhD Winter School 2027 "Planning under Uncertainty in Energy Markets and Transportation" to be held at Passo del Tonale (Italy), from 17 to 23 January 2027.
This event has been possible through the support of:
the Research Council of Norway;
the Norwegian Directorate for Higher Education and Skills;
the Norwegian Centre for Environment-friendly Energy Research;
the NTRANS (Norwegian Centre for Energy Transition Strategies);
RenewHydro;
InterPlay;
the Association of European Operational Research Societies (EURO);
the EURO Working Group on Stochastic Optimization (EWGSO);
the Stochastic Programming Society (SPS);
the Italian Association of Operations Research (AIRO).
The School is a seven-day programme, including 30 hours of lectures, and focuses on the following topics of interest:
Optimization under uncertainty: models and algorithms;
Electricity market design and equilibrium models;
Renewable integration, storage and hydropower scheduling;
Planning and operations in transportation systems;
Artificial Intelligence and machine learning for sequential decision-making, including Markov decision processes and reinforcement learning.
